March 7th 2008     And we've lost another one locally. Click here.

“The sad thing is if the two people involved in this accident had been wearing life jackets, it’s very likely both of them would have walked away,” Delaware Division of Fish and Wildlife Enforcement Sgt. Gregory Rhodes said. “With a tragic thing like this happening, we’d like to remind people as they head out on the water this spring to wear their life jackets and observe safe boating practices.”

Because we have cold water paddling around here for 6 months each year and because of some  tragic events here on the Delmarva Peninsula and close by, we've added a page on  Cold Water Paddling Safety.   Paddling this winter, check out these cold water links before you go.  From Chuck Sutherland Off Season Boating, Cold Shock and Hypothermia and  Dr. Gordon Giesbrecht

Still a good read, this was a memorable way to finish off the 06 racing season

October 14th, It was a wild and crazy day- see Race Reports from Steve, Jay, Steve, Cyndi, Vince, and Chris it was almost too much fun.  almost .  Just because only a few actually finished and two racers were returned to the finish line by the Coast Guard doesn't mean it was a bad day.

The Mitchell Madruga Memorial Race

Any list of area info would be incomplete with out the inclusion of Delaware Beach Life.   An exceptionally well produced, but still local magazine.
We've tried to keep the site simple so that it still loads relatively quickly on dial up accounts, a fact of life here on the Delmarvalous Peninsula.

Our thoughts and prayers remain with our brave troops, their families, and for the people of Iraq and Afghanistan.  Be sure to thank our Armed Forces men and women for their service to our country whenever and where ever you have a chance.
